Wassim! That's a bit harsh.
He's calling for Bashar to call for direct talks with the next Israeli PM - something Bashar himself has said will happen at some point.
Why not do what Diab says, and play the Israelis at their own game. There's nothing to lose.
As for his call for Syria to recognise Israel. Yes, it is a step too far (at the moment). But come on - white man's words?

The man is idolising Sadat for goodness' sake. I for one am against any form of compromise with the Zionist entity but your position seems to be elsewhere?
Wassim: where does your refusal to compromise with Israel leave you? Your recalcitrance only serves to hurt Syria, further isolating it. I hate to break it to you, but Israel is not going to go away. Diab is only asking for a gesture. It seems very childish to refuse to engage.
Wassim, I am also against any form of compromise with Israel. I support Syria's talks with Israel. There is no contradiction. The talks must result in the full return of the Golan, or nothing. That is not a compromise, that is Syria's right.
Julius - Syria shouldn't compromise with Israel. Every Israeli leader that has talked to Syria has accepted that.
Wassim - I agree, he does seem to like what Sadat did. But has kind words for Nasser too.

Aki Nawaz raps against "rappers who use the word..." - but aren't most of them just appropriating a derogatory term in order to assert their identity? A bit like the word 'Christian' used as a first Century term of abuse.
