La Rage - Keny Arkana - (English subtitles)
I normally don't like "hip-hop", "rap" or "R'n'B" but I think this song kind of captures the atmosphere around the world right now.

lol... you're an idiot.
Very nice, thanks. It does capture some of what I feel and also shows that imperfect "mestizaje" that is proper of our hyper-globalized reality.
Nice choice. I usually don't like rap too much either (partly also because such stupid macho lyrics so often) but this type of, how would I call it, "hybrid Occitan rap"? (reminds me of another band from Toulouse from the 90s - can't recall the name), with potent music behind the singer is distinct and very expressive.
Not sure if you can read Spanish, so I'll translate the closing message: "Struggle is like a circle: one can start at any point but it never ends".
Trojaa,
Thank you.
Maju,
Thanks for stopping by and for your comments. I can't read Spanish so your translation was very helpful, I like that quote.
"War Within a Breath" by Rage Against the Machine is my perennial favorite:

Salam Maysaloon,
To me this song sounds too abstract and a bit poor : "the Rage", "the Nature", "the Man"... Blah blah blah. To some extent, Keny Arkana is a rebel without a clue - to borrow one of your key expression ; )
Please check :
- Any song of La Rumeur
ex : "Le Cuir usé d'une valise"
The Time-worn leather of a Suitcase
(about the memories of migration and colonial oppression)

"It's the time-worn leather of a suitcase that is howling to destiny it has not came in vain.."
- Any song of Casey
"Chez moi"
My home (a social/political song about La Martinique, memories of slavery and effects of ongoing French colonialism on this island)

Excerpt :
"Do you know my cousins don't give a shit to sunbaths and that coconut palms can't hide the misery here?"
Bienvenue Princesse!
Yes I agree, she does seem like a rebel without a clue and I had my suspicions :) but thanks for the links on those songs! I'll play them in the background whilst studying now for motivation!
Midwinterspring,
You rebel you! :)
