So far, none of the main newspapers here in the UK have realised how big this is, with the news item conveniently tucked away below the headlines. The biggest coverage so far is naturally from ecstatic Israeli news sources whilst al Manar is playing recitations of the Quran with a small headline announcing that Imad Mughniyeh has been martyred. I can't overemphasize the importance of what's just happened and the position Israel has just put itself in.

Agreed. But also it is not only a position Israel has put itself in, but a position it has put Hezbollah in. Do you recognize how perplexing and tough a situation this is for Hezbollah taken the current state of affairs in Lebanon?

oh well...

Well the loss for Hezbullah is painful and he is a key figure for the organisation, but I think they can recover nonetheless. It is the position of the "majority" which is untenable in Lebanon, rather than Hezbullah, which can take over the country in less than 48 hours if they wanted to.

sadly the Arabs are restricting Hizbullah's possible responses. This is the tragedy. al-Arab jarab.
